Design a thin, high strength, composite sandwich structure for both the seat and cradle. Analyze the system through Finite Element Analysis to refine and optimize the design. Then correlate results with field test data taken from real world situations.
The composite design contributed to a significant reduction in weight with improved stiffness in the seating system. The final design configuration reduced the footprint and complexity of the manufactured assembly.
