Challenge:Finite element analysis of composite boat hull.

Improve quality by reducing stress cracks that develop over time on surfaces of the boat.

Solution:

Analyze the structure through Finite Element Analysis to pinpoint high stress areas that could create fatigue cracking in high load situations. Correlate results with field test data taken from real world situations. Then iterate design alternatives to provide solutions for implementation by manufacturing.

The Finite Element Analysis pointed out potential problem areas and provided quick evaluation of alternatives to reduce cracking of the laminate and improve perceived quality by customers.
